Hi Dave, many thanks for mailing me over the last few months, I have found the information that you have sent very interesting. I've found that being a woman wanting to do LGV can be quite hard going. As a single parent, funding a driving course is exceptionally hard, at the moment I am trying to get help with funding, but keep getting knock backs. I have also been told that not many haulage companies would employ me because of my gender. Being a LGV driver has been a dream of mine for many years, my fella knows all of the drivers at William Nicol in Aberdeen, on one occasion I had the opportunity to sit in one of their wagons and I so fell in love with the DAF 95 XF Space Cab. I will follow my dream and become qualified, no matter how long it takes, I will keep you updated with my struggle to get my LGV licence. (Nicole, February 2007)

Hi Dave, Just letting you know that I passed my Class 2 yesterday 25/06/07. Really proud moment, especially for being a woman. Class 1 hopefully within the next couple of months! (Nicole, June 2007)

Hi Dave. I am aged 40 and have worked at senior level in an Accounting office for past 16 years. However, as I will be relocating to UK following my wife, now resident there after securing work permit with NHS, I thought of getting a Bus Driver License, which is known as class 1,this part of the world [Southern Africa]. I accomplished that, and i intend to work part time and/or full time depending on remuneration ranges in this new field. I am a workaholic, hence I will be happy to keep myself extremely occupied. When I visited London in Jan -Feb06 I was impressed with the advanced networks and standard of living. I hope, as I finalise processing my papers this August, I will advise you and hopefully, my job will be ready for me. (Moses, July 2006)
