Classes of HGV Licence Avalable in the UK
There are four categories to choose from.

|Vehicles over 3,500kg with a trailer up to 750kg||C|
|Lorries between 3,500kg and 7,500kg with a trailer up to 750kg||C1|
|Vehicles over 3,500kg with a trailer over 750kg||C&E|
|Lorries between 3,500kg and 7,500kg with a trailer over 750kg - total weight not more than 12,000kg||C1+E|

Typically, you would choose class C for learning to drive a rigid lorry and C+E to learn to drive an articulated vehicle.
